“Rhoda Cook Rugo, 84, a resident of Annapolis for 45 years and previously of Beverly, Mass., died April 17 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of pneumonia after a brief illness. She was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Annapolis. She graduated from Annapolis High School, class of 1942. She worked as a flight attendant for TransWorld Airlines and was an executive assistant for the Maryland Department of Economic Development.
She retired from the State of Maryland. She operated Southgate Bed & Breakfast for 10 years from her home. She was a member of the daughters of American Revolution. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and fashion; she traveled the world; and she had a love for jewelry and dogs. Survivors include her son, Robert T. Rugo of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter, Terry R. Harris of Annapolis; and two grandchildren, Jade L. Harris of Annapolis and Laine D. Bowman of Severna Park. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 23 at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street in Annapolis. A reception following the memorial service will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brett and Laine Bowman.”
