A funeral Mass will be said today for John P. DeLuca, 51, of Weymouth, a Naval Reserve captain and professor at Bridgewater State College, who was killed in a plane crash Tuesday.
Mass will be at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth Landing. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Weymouth.
Investigating agencies were still trying to determine yesterday what caused Mr. DeLuca's single engine plane to crash as he was was attempting to land at Taunton Airport.
Mr. DeLuca was an associate professor of management science and aviation science and was with the First National Bank of Boston before undertaking a teaching career.
He leaves his wife, Carole (O'Toole); four daughters, Margaret Klein of Hawaii, and Paula, Amy and Joan, all of Weymouth; his mother, Anna Ferroli of Dorchester; a sister, Mary Ann McNutt of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Edward J. of Weymouth and Joseph of Dorchester; and a grandson.
