“Marion R. Varnerin of Canton passed away August 25th at the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. Born and raised in Brookline, she graduated from Brookline High Class of 1941. She has lived in Canton since 1962 where she was a member of the Ponkapoag Civic Assn, an active member of St. Gerard Majella Church and a member of the Catholic Daughter’s of America. She worked for Doveckmun Co. for 6 years prior to being married and later worked for John Hancock Life Insurance Company as a secretary for 10 years. Beloved wife of the late Albert J. Varnerin. Mother of John L. & his wife Amy of Stow & Leslie A. Reid of Easton and her fiancée William Walsh. Grandmother of Macy Reid & Declan & Ella Varnerin. Aunt of Maureen McKean of Brockton, Ann Barry of Weymouth, Ellen Varnerin of Sandwich, Lisa Varnerin of Quincy and Joanne Russell of Medway. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday 5-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Thursday at 12 noon.
