March 31 1897 in Boston Pietro Cifrino, a 23 year old butcher born in Italy to Alfonzo and Anna, married Margaret Mahon, a 19 year old domestic born in Ireland to John and Nellie, before a justice of the peace.

In October 1900 his mother and youngest brother came to the US saying that they were joining Pietro in Boston’s North End.

Pietro Cifrino, in April 1921 at the age of 49 and unmarried, sailed from Naples to Boston. His nearest relative in Italy was listed as Emiadio (?) Gallo in Giffoni sei Casali. He said he had been in Boston from 1893-1905 and was joining his brother Paul at 600 Columbia Road, Dorchester.

Lived in Boston for a while, but returned home to frazione Prepezzano di Giffoni Sei Casali, Italy.

Ellis Island record says that he is unmarried at age 49 in 1921, news report on his brother John’s will in the 1960s say Pietro. now deceased, has two children, daughters, in Italy.

The last time he (John) came to his native village in 1951 was the occasion of the marriage of his niece Philomena.
