Hugo E. Genini, 86, of Pleasant Street, Concord, died yesterday at the New Hampshire Odd Fellows Home. He was born in Concord, the son of Stefano and Emma (Miniutti) Genini. He graduated from Concord High School in 1933 and studied engineering with I.C.S. and the Armed Forces Institute. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II and in the Navy Reserves for 31 years, retiring as a chief warrant officer. He worked for the State of New Hampshire Public Works and Highway Department for 42 years, retiring as district construction engineer in 1976. He also worked as the chief engineer in reconstructing Main Street in Concord in 1952 and designed and supervised the construction and expansion of the Concord Country Club from nine to 18 holes in 1971. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Concord, the Concord Elks Lodge, the Southern New Hampshire Skating Club and the Concord Country Club. Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Olsen of South Portland, Maine; a niece, Jane Johnson of Windham, Maine; a grand niece; and a grand nephew. Calling hours will not be held. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. in St. Peter's Church, 135 N. State St., Concord. Burial will follow in Blossom Hill Cemetery.”
