From Ellis Island a contractor hired him to work building a railroad in Harper’s Ferry West Virginia and then took him to Concord, New Hampshire. His brother was with him and eventually left for Chicago.
Changed his name to Frank Fanny. 1894 naturalization shows “Fanney” In 1900 census it looks like “Tanny” and is indexed that way in online database. Says he came to the US in 1884. (This is a pretty early arrival and about the same time that John Varnerin went to Boston from Tramonti, 1885.)
Frank Fanny living on Prospect Street, Concord, New Hampshire when son Albert was born.
1910 Census has him as “Fanny”. Five children. Steven R., born Oct. 1896, who was shown in the 1900 census is listed as Peter S. age 12.
