Arrived at Ellis Island 8 February 1898, going to join her husband Salvatore “Marengo” in East Boston. Her last residence was Bonito ( northeast of Naples). The three oldest children, ages 6, 5, and 3, were with her.

1911 directory lists Marguerite Monafo as a fruit seller at 531 Shirley Street, living at 295 Shirley Street, Dorchester. Living with her are Orast and Tony. In 1913 Chrelia is added, all working in the fruit business.

In 1920 Winthrop is the only one listed in Boston. He is a salesman at 120 Boylston Street, room 603 but lives in Winthrop.

She died at home, 23 Wave Way, Winthrop.
Father’s name is given as Nicolis Chelffo.

Her name is shown as Margerite Chiffilo on daughter’s marriage record in 1915.
