Worked in Germany in 1898 and 1899 learning stone mason trade and in 1900 went to Concord, New Hampshire and worked in the quarries. Went back to Italy in 1904 for military service, but was discharged after a month for flat feet. He then visited his sister Luigia in Tramonti and returned to the US.

He is shown in the 1900 census at age 16 living with his brother Louis and family at 167 Rumford Street, Concord City, New Hampshire. Born November 1883.

Ellis Island - arrives 18 April 1906, says he was in Concord, New Hampshire from 1899 to 1904.
