Message from Pam Crawford Wooten, July 1996:
"I have found that Beatrice's grandparents as listed in the 1851 census in St. Johns New Brunswick, Hugh McHugh and Bridgett McKenna were both from Ireland and immigrated in 1839 to NB. The census stated Hugh was 30 yrs of age and Bridgett was 29. They had three sons at the time-all born in Canada-John 10 yrs; James 8 yrs; and Hugh 1 yr. Michael Aloyousses was not born yet. There was a poll census in 1853 and the family was not listed." (although the children born ca 1856 and 1858 were apparently born in Canada according to the 1880 Census)
