Birth certificate says “Mary Emilia” also a note that it was changed to agree with baptismal record. At Massachusetts State Archives she is listed as Mary, Vol. 499, Page 24. Says she was born at 8 Franklin Court (off Norfolk Avenue, presumably her parents home at the time, although a few months later in June the 1900 Census says that they are at 9 Franklin Court - under the name Rugal.)

Lived in Florence after marriage until 1938. They left Italy due to problems associated with the beginnings of World War II. The family sailed from Genoe on 6 May 1938, arriving in New York on 13 May, and listing Guido Rugo at 36 Hinckley Road in Milton, Massachusetts as their contact person in the US.

Father’s obituary in 1942 says she is living in Dorchester.
